Many more European release dates got in plus uncountable updates. This took an unbelievable amount of time to research, but they are looking way more promising now. Additionally many more alternate titles (including preliminary) made it into the software list. Some entries are still on the pending list, but they should be included in the next release.
2014-09-29
Updated some company/publisher information and finally my entire library has been digitally preserved. New purchases and contributions will be added quickly, but there is no schedule for it. In the meantime I'll gather some additional information for existing entries and figure out new release dates.
2014-09-13
Added three new printed circuit boards and a lot alternate titles to the MESS software list.
2014-09-03
Added more, cleaned up and slightly simplified the printed circuit board overview. The respective 27Cx EPROM types have been added to the Mask ROM pinout overview. As promised, I included SRAM support to the MESS software list. EEPROM related stuff is included as well but unfortunately, it isn't properly emulated till now.
2014-06-20
Many more release dates and the first three fixes (Paperboy, The Terminator and Pink Goes to Hollywood). Next update will include SRAM support for MESS.
2014-05-31
Hooray, the release dates are in ... well, some ... and with a little headache. In addition to the vanilla Japanese ones, some European release/street dates have been included. European in this case means UK-only because almost all publishers had it's headquarter located here, therefore new releases hit the UK market first. But don't take 'em too serious - some tend to be completly wrong.

Has it really been that long since the last update? I hadn't much spare time working on this project, but it goes on. I'm mainly still busy collecting the release dates ... be patinced.
2013-06-30
Added six new printed circuit boards and more finetuned all current publisher names to separate publishing labels from company names. Beside this, I was busy with the inclusion of release dates for U.S. and European titles. Unfortunately there are no official lists, resulting in a very tedious work to lead the different sources together. Even to make this harder it was common that releases got delayed (several times). Causes were not only late bug fixes or design changes, also while manufacturing in Japan. Peak times at the factories were bottlenecks, so delivery could take a few months instead just several weeks.
2013-05-23
The MESS software list got improved, again. Ghouls'n Ghosts and Twin Cobra are working for the first time. I fixed the faulty quotation mark handling, finetuned the publisher assignments of Tengen/Time Warner/Tradewest/Midway and included all revision information.
2013-05-16
Due the large amount of PCBs found so far, I decided to create a separate page. The MESS software list got improved in several ways, but still doesn't reached final stage. The release territories aren't longer limited to the hardware (VDP) implementation.
2013-04-13
Added some more painful EA carts that are rotting for quite a while here ... I hate these holt head screws and therefore put 'em always back. Currently the database reached the 500th entry. To sum it up: This covers about 9 % of the Japanese, 14 % of the U.S. and 68 % of the European releases.
In addition to the standard DAT, I decided to offer an alternate software list for MESS. The list is automatically exported/converted from the database and has not been extensively tested. Some carts probably refuse to boot - consider it in beta stage. The difference to the native MESS softlist is the support of the natural data format (byte-order) and the lack of unlicensed stuff.
2013-03-23
Good news everyone. Nearly the whole database got adapted to the MESS megadriv.xml softlist (since 0.148u2) and this incorporation will remain in the future. The fabulous work was done by etabeta. Beside this I added more carts and printed circuit boards with a little clean-up work.
2013-03-12
Not much got changed. I overall reworked the main page and added some new carts. The previous 32-Mbit Sonic Classics dump turns out to be only 24-Mbit in physical reality (shrinked die).
2013-02-27
All currently supported cartridges have been adapted to a new database scheme. This was an unavoidable tedious task. Furthermore the product number overview has been completed and one of the last two unknown manufacturer codes got successfully identified to be Matsushita.
2012-06-11
The product number overview has been extended with titles from N to R. The ported arcade game "Caliber Fifty" got its final name: Cal.50 Caliber-Fifty. Yes, it looks a bit odd, but that's the official title from Seta. Again some minor changes plus the following additions:
2012-05-20
Finally I'm back. Since the last update I moved two times. Therefore spare time was very limited. Anyway here are 36 new additions plus around 50 new games on schedule - stay tuned.
I added more company codes and created an overview of the product number assignments and printed circuit boards. The product number overview represents the current DAT (currently limited from A to M) with some hardware stuff and gets extended with each new dump.
2011-04-08
The 32X and Amiga related projects have been removed until further notice. I need more spare time for revision. But the primary Mega Drive/Genesis re-dump project is still alive and growing. All older news entries got nuked since they refer to currently unavailable content.
MD/G Updates: I did a lot internal changes to the database and decided to drop the support for the single territory letters (JUE). The territory is now implemented by its full name (Japan, Europe, USA or World for all).
